What photos help identify a three-point or multipoint lock?
A clear set of photos often saves time when a door lock needs repair or replacement. Because many systems look similar from the front, the edge strip, measurements and manufacturer markings are especially useful.
Take these four photos
- The full door from inside, showing the handle height and frame.
- The full metal locking strip along the door edge with the door open.
- A close-up of the handle, cylinder, gearbox area and any visible damage.
- Any logo, brand name, stamped number or label on the mechanism.
Add a few details
Tell us whether the key works with the door open, whether the handle lifts fully, and whether the top or bottom locking point reaches the keep. If you can do so safely, include the faceplate length, backset and cylinder type. Never remove a working lock just to take a photo.
